Questions fréquentes

No — ODT (OpenDocument Text) is the ISO-standardized open format used by LibreOffice and OpenOffice. DOCX is Microsoft's Office Open XML format used by Microsoft Word. Both are ZIP archives containing XML. They are similar in concept but different formats. LibreOffice can open both ODT and DOCX. Microsoft Word can open DOCX natively and ODT with limited compatibility. For maximum compatibility when sharing documents, PDF remains the safest choice.
If the fonts used in the ODT are available on the conversion server, they are embedded in the PDF. If fonts are not available, the converter substitutes a similar font, which may cause minor layout differences. For the most accurate conversion, use standard, widely available fonts (Times New Roman, Arial, Liberation Serif) rather than custom or locally-installed fonts.
