About the Decision Maker
The Decision Maker helps you choose between options when you are stuck, paralyzed by indecision, or just want a fun way to settle a choice. How to use it
- Enter each option you are deciding between (2 or more).
- Optionally assign weights to favor certain options.
- Click Decide or Spin the Wheel.
- Accept the result or spin again for another choice.
Formula & methodology
Equal probability: random selection from n options, each with probability 1/n. Weighted: each option assigned a weight W_i. Cumulative probability: sum of weights normalized to 1. Random value in [0,1) selects option based on cumulative ranges. Fair coin flip: two options, each 50%. Wheel segment size = weight_i / sum(all weights) * 360 degrees.
